This birthday was truly special, as I decided to start a new tradition taking a trip every year to celebrate my special day. I began this journey with Amritsar, a city that has been on my travel list for a long time. It’s one of my favourite places, yet somehow, the plan never worked out before. But this year, I finally gathered the courage and made it happen and it was absolutely worth it.

A Soulful Start to My Birthday at Sri Harmandir Sahib

I stayed at a hotel near Sri Harmandir Sahib, and from my window, I could clearly see the golden dome shining beautifully. Filled with positivity, my cousin and I dressed in traditional attire and headed to the Gurudwara. As we reached, I felt a deep wave of emotion within me. I gladly handed over my slippers to the sewadar (volunteer), washed my hands, and covered my head before stepping inside with devotion.

Walking slowly toward the Gurudwara, my heart was filled with peace and emotion. The first glimpse of the sacred Sarovar (holy water) and the magnificent temple standing gracefully in its center left me speechless. In that moment, I realized this birthday is truly a blessing.

My cousin and I waited for over three hours for the darshan, as the crowd was at its peak. But in that long wait, I truly understood the meaning of “nothing worth having comes easy.” As we moved slowly forward, my heartbeat grew faster with every step. The moment I entered the Darbar Sahib, I couldn’t hold back my tears, they flowed freely, carrying all my emotions with them. In that sacred space, I felt an overwhelming sense of peace and realization this was exactly what I wanted on my birthday: pure emotions, inner transformation, and divine blessings.

After the darshan, we stepped out, received the prasad, and savored it with gratitude. We then sat there for a while, simply soaking in the peace and serenity that surrounded the place.

On our way back to the hotel, we paused for a while within the Gurudwara premises, simply admiring the breathtaking beauty and the deep sense of peace that the Golden Temple radiated. It was a truly unforgettable experience filled with emotions, spirituality, transformation, and countless blessings.

After a wonderful and deeply spiritual experience, I got ready with a heart full of positivity to celebrate my birthday with a small cake-cutting. The day had been truly special in every way, and with beautiful memories of Amritsar in my mind, I went to bed excited for the next day’s adventures.

Bites of Amritsar: Where Every Flavor Tells a Story

Being a big foodie, I decided to dedicate an entire day to exploring the rich flavors of Amritsar and by the end of it, I was completely in love with this city! From the irresistible chole kulche and frothy lassi to the flavorful paneer bhurji, chai, and local street delicacies, every bite was pure bliss. I still remember how I just couldn’t stop eating wanting to savor every flavor Amritsar had to offer.

Witnessing the Spirit of India at Wagah Border

For the first time, I caught a glimpse of Pakistan, and it was overwhelming to see how two nations stand so close, yet so different, divided only by a line. Sitting at the Wagah Border, surrounded by the incredible energy of the crowd, was an experience beyond words. I witnessed true discipline, dedication, and the deep love our soldiers and people have for the country. The atmosphere was electric people were dancing, cheering, and celebrating with pride. It was filled with pure patriotic spirit a truly magical experience where I felt the heartbeat of India.

There’s something enchanting about the Golden Temple at night

Under the night sky, the Golden Temple shines with a magic that words can’t capture. It glows like a dream at night calm, divine, and absolutely mesmerizing.

I sat there for hours, doing nothing, just soaking in the peace and calmness around me. For the first time in a long while, I felt completely free from chaos, negativity, and stress. The Golden Temple at night was truly magical, simply magical.
