This was an unexpected twist in my life. I was a commerce student in the 12th standard, but choosing BCA for my graduation became a turning point. Adapting to this change was challenging; the stream shifted, the subjects were completely different, and everything felt unfamiliar compared to what I had studied in school.
I had always disliked math and carried a deep-rooted fear of it. When it reappeared during my graduation, all those fears came rushing back and left me anxious. The initial phase was challenging, and things didn’t go as planned, but gradually, with persistence, I found myself in a place where my efforts started showing results.
My journey in math began with poor scores, but I refused to give up. I worked tirelessly, giving my absolute best, and gradually improved my performance.
Coming from a pure commerce background, I had always planned to build my career in commerce. Making such an unexpected shift filled me with anxiety and uncertainty, as I had no prior knowledge of coding, math, or other technical subjects.
I truly believe that everything happens for a reason, and this decision proved it to me. In the beginning, despite working as hard as I could, I scored low and often questioned myself, wondering if I should give up. Yet, an inner voice kept encouraging me, reminding me that I could do this if I treated it as a challenge and continued to work hard, because effort always brings results.
I didn’t perform very well in my first semester, and it affected me deeply. Determined to improve, I gave my absolute best in the second semester and made significant progress. By the time I entered my second year, I felt motivated and confident. When the third semester began, the fear I once had was gone. I put in all my efforts and finally reached the level I had aimed for, securing the 2nd position in the class.
Gradually, I began learning coding and experimenting with it. By the time I entered my third year, I realized that when we invest our efforts in the right direction, we achieve what we truly deserve. By the end of my final year, I had made it. My entire graduation journey became a powerful learning phase, full of ups and downs that shaped who I am today.
All the hard work I had put into my graduation gave me the confidence to face post-graduation without fear. I had a clear picture of my goals and the path I needed to follow.
A commerce student who never believed she could reach this far went on to crack campus placements and secure an off-campus job as well. The path was tough, but she proved that with determination and hard work, nothing is impossible
